The 2026 Program

The FinTech Innovation Lab Asia-Pacific is an annual accelerator program run by Accenture in collaboration with Hong Kong Cyberport and the world’s top financial institutions.

Selected companies receive:

  • Mentoring from Accenture, leading financial institutions and VCs, as well as the Lab’s Entrepreneurs Network and Industry Advisors
  • Speed networking activities with our principal financial institution partners and Accenture senior executives across the APAC region
  • Week-long workshops and panel discussions on broad-ranging topics from industry trends and technology architecture to bank regulation and presentation skills

The program culminates in Demo Day, where companies showcase their technology and achieved progress in the program to financial institution executives, investors and journalists

2026 Themes

• Focus: GenAI and agentic AI solutions that improve productivity and client experience across front, middle and back office.

• Examples: RM/advisory copilots; contact centre automation; document intelligence; workflow/ops automation.

• Focus: Governance and controls for GenAI and agentic AI - validation, monitoring, explainability, auditability, guardrails/permissions, and human-in-the-loop.

• Examples: model risk management; drift monitoring; action logging & audit trails; policy/guardrail frameworks.

• Focus: Cyber defence and resilience for critical operations, including scams/account takeover and third-party/supply-chain risk (AI-enabled defence where relevant).

• Examples: threat detection/response; scam/ATO prevention; resilience/BCP tooling; vendor risk controls; deepfake detection.

• Focus: AML/CFT, sanctions and compliance automation - monitoring, case management, controls testing and regulatory reporting.

• Examples: AML analytics/network analysis; sanctions screening; alert/case management; reporting data quality & controls testing.

• Focus: Modernising how money moves and settles—cross-border payments, ISO 20022, interoperability layers, tokenisation and programmable digital money infrastructure.

• Examples: ISO 20022 transformation/enrichment; payment routing & exception handling; instant payment interlinking; tokenised deposits; tokenised settlement/custody rails; programmable payments.

• Focus: Open APIs, consent-based data sharing and digital identity rails that enable secure ecosystem partnerships and integrations.

• Examples: API enablement/monitoring; consent & permissions; identity verification; partner onboarding/integration.

• Focus: Technology that improves core insurance journeys—underwriting/pricing, claims (FNOL to settlement), policy administration, product engine and digital distribution.

• Examples: underwriting & pricing automation; claims triage/STP; document ingestion; fraud leakage reduction; modernised core policy system; embedded insurance / bancassurance enablement.

- This company’s product/solution would be impactful to client organisation.

- It addresses an unmet need in the market. It is unique and well-differentiated from its competitors in the market.

- Leadership team has a mix of technical expertise, industry knowledge and entrepreneurial experience.

- Solution already tested with a FS client (as POC at least).

- Either physically, or soon-to-be, in Hong Kong with ambitions in the whole region.

- Ensure that legal aspects have been considered to avoid incompatibility with regulated activities.

- Potential for scaling with multi-product and multi-location approach.

- Strong cybersecurity measures and data protection policies in mind aligned with standards in the industry.

- The startup has technical integration with financial institutions infrastructure in mind – through robust API or native integration with existing systems.

FAQs

No, there is no fee or equity stake required to apply or participate in the Asia-Pacific FinTech Innovation Lab.

We expect your senior management to participate in at least 80 percent of the program. The first two weeks will be intense, with about four to six hours of daily workshops. After that, the average commitment is about six to eight hours per week, which can be split among team members. This time will be spent on mentoring sessions and meeting with partner FIs and will largely consist of business development activities.

If your application is successful, you will be invited to a dedicated Interview Day. You’ll pitch and demo your product virtually or in person to an Accenture judging panel.

Successful participants will be invited to join the final group of the FinTech Innovation Lab in 2026.

No, overseas participants can choose to participate virtually or in person for part of the program. Finalists are expected to attend the Welcome Reception and Demo Day in person.
